JOB SUMMARY:
The Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining computer networks within the organisation and other designated areas. This includes tasks such as configuring, installing, and troubleshooting network hardware and software, ensuring network security, and optimizing network performance. Additionally, the Network Administrator is responsible for monitoring network activity, diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, and implementing network policies and procedures. They may also be involved in designing and implementing network infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, IDS, IPS and NDR Systems.
- Manage and monitor LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Configure and maintain VPNs, ensuring secure remote access for authorized personnel.
- Develop and implement network security policies and procedures., monitor network traffic for potential security threats, perform security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Monitor network performance, identify and address performance issues and generate reports with suggested improvements.
- Maintain detailed network documentation including configurations, changes and upgrades and prepare report on network performance and any other relevant metrics.
- Stay abreast with latest network technologies an industry trends and provide training and support to staff on network related issues and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of Technical Certification
- Technical Certification in / Network+ / Security+/ CCNA / Fortinet Certification / Azure Network
Engineer Associate.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in ICT or related field.
- At least one (1) year experience as a supervisor, showcasing proven leadership capabilities in guiding and motivating teams towards achieving operational excellence.
- At least three (3) years' experience within the logistics, transportation, marine facility sector, or trade/port industry is preferred.
CORE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Good interpersonal, communication and working knowledge of theory and practice of computerized and/or electronic systems.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc)
- Working Knowledge of Avaya/Cisco PBX Systems.
- Experience with network and security practices and tools.
- Proficiency in using network monitoring and management tools.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA / NSE 4, CCNP / NSE 6 + are highly desirable.
