Frequently Asked Questions

How many days can a container/cargo stay at the port before storage
charges apply?

o Full containers: 5 working days (free storage period).
o Empty containers: 14 working days (free storage period).

Are we able to make payments online?

Not currently, but the Port Authority does accept credit and debit cards at our facilities.

What is the difference in box rates?

o Rates are determined as per T.E.U? (twenty equivalent unit).

What is the meaning of TEU?

o TEU stands for Twenty Equivalent Unit, a standard measure used to
describe a container's capacity.

How are various tariff charges calculated?

o Charges are based on the capacity, quantity, and type of cargo or
container being handled.
